Available in sizes 14 AWG through 750 kcmil, Encore Wire's Metal-Clad Cable is constructed with soft-drawn copper and Type THHN/THWN-2 conductors rated 90 degrees Celsius in dry or wet locations. Sizes 14 AWG through 1 AWG contain a green insulated grounding conductor. All conductors are cabled together with a separator tape containing the identification print legend to the cable core. Interlocked aluminum armor is applied over the entire assembly. A flame-retardant, sunlight-resistant, black PVC jacket is applied over the armor.
These bare, soft-annealed stranded copper conductors are available in sizes 8 AWG through 750 kcmil. The high dielectric strength, heat- and moisture-resistant, colored PVC is rated for continuous use at 90 degrees Celsius in dry or wet locations to meet UL-83 requirements. Soft, uncoated copper per ASTM-B787; insulated green ground. The insulated conductors are cabled together with or without a bare ground. Includes nylon rip cord for easy stripping; black insulation with ICEA Method 4 printed number; and flame-retardant, sunlight-resistant, black PVC jacket.
Available in sizes 14 AWG through 1,000 kcmil. On 250 kcmil and larger, sequential foot markings are located every one foot for easy measuring. For 1 AWG through 4/0 AWG, sequential foot markings are on master reels only, unless otherwise specified. 8 AWG and larger are rated as sunlight-resistant in all colors. 1/0 AWG and larger are rated for cable tray use and comply with UL-1685-Method 1 (70,000 Btu/hr) flame test. Can be used in wet or dry locations at temperatures not to exceed 90 degrees Celsius. Can be used as switchgear and switchboard wire with flame-retardant thermoset insulation at temperatures up to 90 degrees Celsius.
