Featured Services

Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering

Border States understands that managing every detail with precision means more than just delivering services — it means integrating them into a seamless solution that propels your project forward. Our industry-unique assurance isn’t just about the right materials in the right place at the right time. Our turnkey service is the glue that binds all these elements together, ensuring efficiency and smooth progress from inception to completion.

Our team of skilled engineers designs comprehensive electrical systems, including architectural lighting plans. We optimize power distribution and create custom lighting systems that enhance residential, commercial, or industrial spaces. When it comes to water supply and disposal, we ensure your plumbing systems are well-designed, compliant, and optimized for functionality.

Building Information Modeling (BIM)

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the holistic process of creating and managing information for a built asset. Based on an intelligent model and enabled by a cloud platform, BIM integrates structured, multidisciplinary data to produce a digital representation of an asset across its lifecycle — from planning and design to construction and operations.

There are many benefits to using BIM, including improved communication and collaboration, reduced errors and omissions, cost savings, increased efficiency, on-site safety, and better project visualization. By using 3D models and digital data, BIM facilitates efficient project management and optimizes resource utilization, leading to more successful outcomes.

Border States offers a wide range of BIM services, including:

  • BIM modeling
  • BIM mechanical, electrical, and plumbing coordination
  • Clash detection
  • Revit family creation
  • BIM model auditing
  • BIM quantity takeoff
  • Shop drawing extraction
  • Revit Dynamo

Power Studies and Digital Twin Technology

At Border States, we provide seamless, end-to-end solutions for power engineering studies and digital twin technology. Our process ensures accurate site evaluations, advanced power designs, and ongoing model maintenance — giving you confidence that your systems remain safe, efficient, and up to date. The digital twin subscription provides continuous updates, access to critical data, and reliable support from our Engineering team.

Here’s how our process works:

  1. Site evaluation — We work alongside electrical contractors, facility managers, and engineers to thoroughly assess your site and provide tailored solutions across industries.
  2. Design implementation — We create detailed power and lighting designs using Revit while performing power studies with ETAP, including short-circuit analysis, arc flash studies, and protective device/relay coordination studies.
  3. Digital twin subscription — A five-year subscription with periodic model updates and up to 30 component modifications. You’ll have full access to your digital twin model, with operating and maintenance manuals securely stored for reference.
  4. Final study and reminders — At the end of the five-year term, we remind you to rerun power studies and update your digital twin model, ensuring your arc flash labels and system are current.
  5. Renewal — Extend your service with another five-year subscription to keep your model updated and compliant.
